Tafarn Dwynant

Welcome to our pub in the heart of Wales

Dogs at the Dwynant

We (that is Clive and Dylan, resident hounds) welcome friendly dogs of all sizes, shapes and breeds to Tafarn Dwynant. There is always water available, and sometimes homemade treats as well (worth asking for!).

Dogs are allowed throughout the pub, and we have a nice wood burning stove to stretch out in front of. All we ask is that our visiting dogs try to contain their natural excitement at life and socialise with each other gently!

Local Walks

This is a brilliant area for dog walking as we have both beaches and forest! Great for avoiding sheep. You can walk straight from the pub into the forestry and go for miles, and there is even more choice if you take a short drive.

Our favourite off-lead walks include:

- Tan Y Coed - and if you want to take those paws a bit further you can walk from here around Cwm Cadian

- Foel Friog at Aberllefeni (a little steep but well worth it!)

- Aberdyfi Beach - brilliant, just brilliant and accessible all year round with only a tiny area restricted in summer. You can even walk all the way to Tywyn if you feel really active!

We always have maps and walking books available to look at in the pub so just ask!

There is also a lovely little one bedroom cottage just across the stream from us in Ceinws which takes dogs! It is called No3 Dulas Cottages.

We look forward to meeting your hounds (and you of course).

Our Charity

The Dwynant is proud to support The Oldies Club, a dog rescue that rehomes and supports older dogs.
